Making a home for women and children

In 1996, Sr. Anne Dixon, a member of the Good Samaritan Sisters, had a dream to welcome the homeless into their home. Anne was joined by Sr. Helen Mills and together, with many other sisters and volunteers, the Good Samaritan Inn was established.

Today, the Good Samaritan Inn continues to provide short-term emergency accommodation for single women, and women with children, escaping family violence and homelessness. Our guests are provided with a supportive, safe and clean place to stay, where they can attend to their immediate needs, prior to moving onto other short-term or transitional accommodation or return home safely.

“The assistance from everyone and support cannot be put into words. I am deeply touched with the compassion and kindness by all.

Thank you all.”
